CURRENT PROJECT 2016
PRESERVATION PLAN
In January 2016, Faunsdale Foundation hired Stephen McNair, formerly the Director of Historic Sites for the Alabama Historical Commission to create a Preservation Plan to help direct future restoration and preservation many landmarks. These landmarks include the St. Michael’s Episcopal Church, whose interior was built in 1857 and Faunsdale Presbyterian Church, established in 1887. Their restoration could help Faunsdale qualify as a Historic District on the National Registry of Historic Places.
Unlike so many rural towns in the Black Belt, Faunsdale is beginning to see a bright future. With the help of donations to the Faunsdale Foundation, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, we can save this small town in Alabama for future generations to enjoy.
